Peshawar Zalmi won by 13 runs against Islamabad United in the 29th match of the ongoing season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 8 2023) held at the Pindi Cricket Stadium.
Islamabad United had won the toss and decided to bowl, but Peshawar Zalmi was still able to set a target of 180 runs.
Peshawar Zalmi did not have a good start after losing Saim Ayub’s wicket early in the game, but Mohammad Haris and Bhanuka Rajapaksa managed to score 79 and 41 runs, respectively.
However, once that partnership was over, Peshawar Zalmi began to losing wickets at regular intervals, but still managed to post a target of 180 runs for the Islamabad United.
Islamabad United had a rough start as well after losing Hasan Nawaz for no runs in the first over.
Alex Hales, Sohaib Maqsood and Colin Munro could only manage 15 runs each. Meanwhile, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Shadab Khan managed to score a much needed 33 and 25 runs, respectively.
Asif Ali was dismissed for 5 runs, while Faheem Ashraf scored 36 runs off 13 balls to keep his team in the game, but they still fell short of the target and lost the match.
