The eighth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 8 2023) continues with Karachi Kings vs Multan Sultans playing in Match 14 of the tournament at the National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi. The hosts, Karachi Kings, won the match by 66 runs.
Multan Sultans won the toss and elected to bowl first, which was the right decision as their bowlers were able to restrict Karachi Kings from scoring a massive total. Karachi’s opener, James Vince was dismissed after scoring 27 runs off 12 balls.
However, Mathew Wade and Tayyab Tahir managed a terrific partnership as they scored 109 runs in 83 balls. Individually, Tahir managed to scored 65 runs off 46 balls, while Wade added 46 runs in 47 balls.
Shoaib Malik and Imad Wasim came to bat towards the end of the of the innings and managed 10 and 14 runs, respectively.
Multan Sultans seemed to have a great start, but Karachi Kings quickly turned the game in their favor and dismissed as they dismissed Shan Masood after scoring just 25 runs in 16 balls, while Mohammad Rizwan was sent to the pavilion for just 29 runs off 25 balls.
Once the opening wickets fell, Multan Sultans had a hard time recovering and lost the next six wickets very quickly. David Miller (7), Khushdil Shah (4), Anwar Ali (12), Usama Mir (10), Carlos Brathwaite (1), Akeal Hosein (2), and Abbas Afridi (2) barely managed to play more than a over or two before being dismissed.
