KAMPALA: Pakistani Badminton duo ‘Mahnoor and Palwasha’ have won bronze in Uganda International Badminton Open 2020.
The international Badminton tournament was held in Kampala, Uganda.
‘Mahnoor Shahzad and Palwasha Basheer’ proved to be a perfect team at Uganda International Badminton Open 2020 and clinched bronze in women’s double category in Kampala Uganda.

Mahnoor Shahzad announced their win on her Facebook post. She announced that along with her partner Palwasha, they have won a bronze medal in women doubles in Uganda International Badminton Tournament.
She also said in quarterfinals they beat Aminath Nabeeha Abdul Razzaq and Fatimath Nabeeha Abdul Razzaq of Maldives. The score was 21-14 and 21-19 in the straight sets.

Mahnoor and Palwasha lost the semifinals to India’s pair of Jakkampundi Meghana and Poorvisha S Ram. The final scoreline was 21-3, 21-11.
President of the Uganda Badminton Association, Shaban Nkuttu thanked all the international players for coming to Uganda.
Palwasha Basheer
The Badminton sensations Mahnoor Shahzad and Palwasha Bashir had left to Kampala, Uganda on 19 February 2020.
The duo was set to take part in Uganda International Badminton Open 2020 taking place from 20 February to 23 February 2020, in the Lugogo Indoor Stadium, Kampala.
Both the players contested against top contenders around the world.
Fifteenth Uganda International Badminton Tournament
The fifteenth Uganda International Badminton Tournament was officially launched on 13 February 2020, at the National Council of Sports (NCS) headquarters in Kampala.
Uganda International Badminton Open 2020
Thirty-five countries from Africa, Asia, Europe, America, and Australia had confirmed to take part in the tournament.
Uganda had recorded 99 players with 65 players coming outside Uganda.
The vision of the Uganda Badminton Association is “To make Badminton a widely known and practiced sport in Uganda”.
