Previously, the all-rounder scored an impressive 99 runs against New Zealand in the 2nd T20I but unfortunately Pakistan lost that match against the black caps and the series for 2-1.
Mohammad Hafeez is the first Pakistani cricketer to become the leading T20I scorer since 2013 when Ahmed Shahzad scored 347 runs and lead the charts.
Overall, Hafeez has amassed 1,005 runs across all forms of T20 cricket securing his place as one of the five batsmen to achieve over 1,000 runs total this year with a batting average of 83, which was the second best by any batsmen playing at least five innings.
It is pertinent to mention that out of the five batsmen to reach this run total, three of them are from Pakistan.
