Muhammad Hafeez, the former captain of the Pakistan cricket team, officially resigned down from his role as director of the national team. Reports indicate that Hafeez’s contract had lapsed on December 15, and despite his request for an extension, it was not granted. Consequently, he opted to resign from his position as director of cricket.
Sources suggest that Hafeez was informed by higher-ups within the board that his services would no longer be required in the foreseeable future. Despite his efforts to reach out to relevant individuals, Hafeez failed to receive any positive response.

Additionally, Hafeez received communication from Chief Executive Salman Naseer indicating that the chairman was not inclined to extend his tenure as director. Instead, there is an intention to bring in foreign coaching staff with fresh perspectives and ideas.
