ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has been directed not to air Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 matches in Pakistan.
PEMRA has been barred from broadcasting matches in perspective of banning PSL 2019 matches in India.
A summary in this regard has been forwarded to the cabinet for approval.
As per details garnered, Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) will ensure that ban on IPL coverage must be implemented in its true letters and spirit.
A seemingly possible ban means that IPL will lose multi-million dollar lucrative Pakistani market; second only to India in cricket world.
The decision has been taken against the backdrop of ban on coverage of matches of Pakistan Super League (PSL) in India.
