The critically celebrated home tournament, the Pakistan Super League is back as PCB has recently announced the official schedule for PSL 2021. Hence, the twenty20 combat of the cities will be officially held per tradition in the month of February.
Pakistan Super League (PSL) happens to be the most promising cricket league in Pakistan, initiated in 2016. Following the twenty20 format, the competition comprises of six participating franchises, named after the big-cities of Pakistan. Titled Karachi Kings, Quetta gladiators, Peshawar Zalmi, Multan Sultans, Lahore Qalandar and Islamabad United, the teams are owned and invested by national and international brands.
Moreover, the PSL also welcomes International cricketers into the country, including them among the playing squads. All in all, it is one of the most successful and fascinating tournament. And, the cricket devotees are always anticipated about the forthcoming seasons.
PSL Coming Back
Hence, the wait is finally over, as PSL 6 is approaching real soon. Preparations are in full swing as the venues and dates for the mega tournament are finalized and dropped by the PCB.
Talking about the forthcoming PSL 2021, Director Commercial Babar Hamid stated, “We are delighted to announce the schedule of our marquee event – the HBL Pakistan Super League, which for the second successive season will be held in Pakistan in its entirety.”
“We had to make the tough decision to limit matches to Karachi and Lahore, and this decision has been taken in the larger interest of the event, participants and the country. We want to limit the unnecessary exposure of the players as much as practically possible so that the players can operate in a safe and healthy environment that, in turn, will allow them to continue to entertain the fans and followers with their talent, skills and gamesmanship.”

PSL 2021 Schedule
So, the most anticipated PSL 6 will kick off from 20th February, and will be comprised of 34 matches in 30 days. The opening ceremony will feature the audacious bat ball combat between the first time trophy holders Quetta gladiators, challenging the defending Champions Karachi Kings. The matches will be hosted in two phases, with first phase in Karachi’s national stadium, followed with the other half, including the finale and playoffs in Lahore’s Gaddafi stadium. Moreover, this will be the first time since 2017 that the aforementioned Lahore crease will helm the PSL finale.
