Quetta Gladiators all-rounder Shahid Afridi has tested positive for coronavirus ahead of the PSL 2022 tournament set to begin today (Thursday). The star-player will be out for multiple matches of the PSL 7 and he will be isolating at home following the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) protocols.
Shahid Afridi will be out of the PSL 7 tournament for three matches of his side against Peshawar Zalmi, Karachi Kings, and Multan Sultans between January 28 and February 2. He will be be reintegrated into the squad after seven days subject to testing negative for COVID-19.
Quetta Gladiators are set to play their first game of the PSL 7 on Friday at the National Stadium in Karachi, where the first leg of the tournament will take place before moving to Lahore.
It is pertinent to mention that PSL 7 is going to be the last season of the tournament being played by Shahid Afridi as he had announced it last year.
