Preparations and practice sessions have once again taken effect, as PCB announces the schedule for PSL 6 2021 remaining matches. As per sources, the marquee tournament that was abruptly suspended earlier this year will kick in from 9th till 24th June. However, on account of the worsening pandemic situations of Pakistan, the remainder of the competition has been shifted to Abu Dhabi pitches and will not be played on home grounds.
The announcement comes from Pakistan Cricket Board PCB, bearing in mind the safety of both national and International players. Initially, PSL 6 remaining matches were to be played in Karachi. Though, with the novel virus being at its peak, the decision was upturned, and the second half of the tournament was taken to Abu Dhabi instead.
Moreover, the duration of the tournament has also been reduced, with the Abu Dhabi leg wrapping up in 15 days. Dates from June 9th till June 24th have been booked in for the PSL 6 remaining matches. And, after the tournament, players and support personnel of the national team will fly to the United Kingdom on June 25.
“The remaining matches of the PSL 6 2021 will be played from June 9-24 in Abu Dhabi. There will be a total of six double-headers including one in the play-off stages,” a PCB spokesperson stated.
“Matches on the usual days will start at 9:00pm PST while in the case of double-headers, the first match will start at 6:00pm PST and the second match will be played at 11:00pm PST,” he added.
Furthermore, addressing the PSL 6 2021, PCB CEO Wasim Khan, also stated,
“I can assure all the fans that our priority was always to deliver the complete tournament in Pakistan. However, due to extenuating circumstances we had to shift from that thinking for the remaining matches. Continuing to give the fans access to watch our emerging talent play alongside some of the world’s best will remain a priority for the HBL PSL 7 in 2022.”
