The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to schedule the remaining matches of the sixth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 6 2021) in June at the National Stadium in Karachi.
The decision was taken unanimously after a virtual meeting between the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the six franchise owners and the PSL Government Council on Thursday.
The remaining 20 matches of the sixth season of the Pakistan Super League aka PSL 6 2021 will be held in June following the men’s national cricket team’s return from Zimbabwe on 13 May and before the departure for the England tour scheduled on 26 June.
The PCB management will now look into the operational and logistical challenges and revert to the franchise owners and stakeholders. The final decision will be made in the next meeting which is going to take place in the coming days.
It is pertinent to mention that despite PCB issuing a press release regarding holding the remaining PSL 2021 matches in Karachi, there are several sources stating that remainder of the tournament will take place in Lahore and the provincial government has agreed to the decision.
We will have to wait until the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announces the new schedule for the remainder of the PSL 6 2021 matches scheduled to take place in June.
Earlier, the sixth season of the PSL tournament was postponed after several players from different teams tested positive for the coronavirus after a reported bio-secure bubble breach.
