The seventh edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 7 2022) is scheduled to start this month but the PSL 7 anthem has been delayed due to lack of funding towards the league anthem.
According to the details, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ramiz Raja has refused to pay for the PSL 2022 anthem and he has instructed the marketing staff to locate a sponsor for the production for the anthem.
It is being reported that the marketing team at PCB has been in contact with Pakistani singer Atif Aslam to sing the PSL 7 anthem but no progress has been made so far in this regard due to lack of sponsorship.
The PSL anthem is one of the most awaited songs of the year and an important aspect of the entire tournament. However, there has been no progress made so far in relation to the PSL 2022 anthem despite the tournament starting in less than a month.
It is pertinent to mention that the first three anthems for the Pakistan Super League were sung by Ali Zafar, while Fawad Khan and Young Desi made the anthem for PSL 4. Meanwhile, PSL 5 anthem included several singers, including Ali Azmat, Haroon, Arif Lohar, and Asim Azhar. The last season’s anthem (PSL 6) was sung by the legendary Naseebo Lal, Aima Baig, and Young Stunners.
PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja has instructed the marketing team at PCB to find a sponsor as soon as possible to make the PSL 7 anthem in time to make it public before the start of the tournament.
