Multan Sultans have qualified for the PSL 8 final after defeating Lahore Qalandars in Match 31 (Qualifier) by 84 runs of the ongoing season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 2023) held in Lahore.
Multan Sultans won the toss and elected to bat first, however, they were only able to set a target of 161 runs for the Lahore Qalandars.
Despite having a decent start in the powerplay with 46 runs on the board without the loss of any wicket, it all went downhill for Multan Sultans after Haris Rauf dismissed Usman Khan, who scored 29 runs off 28 balls, in the eighth over.
Meanwhile, skipper Mohammad Rizwan also scored 33 runs off 29 balls, before being dismissed by Rashid Khan, while Rilee Rossouw was only able to score 13 runs in 12 balls before being sent back to the pavilion by Zaman Khan.
Kieron Pollard took control of the game and scored a much needed 57 runs for Multan Sultans from just 34 balls, while Tim David managed 22 runs off 15 balls.
Lahore Qalandars failed miserably and no batter was able to do anything for the team. The highest score contributor was Sam Billings with 19 runs followed by Haris Rauf and David Wiese with 15 and 12 runs, respetively.
Rest of the batting lineup failed to perform and barely scored 10 runs each.
