Shoaib Malik could only make 6 runs before being dismissed, but Kieron Pollard played a crucial innings, scoring 48 runs from just 28 balls. Towards the end, Mohammad Nawaz added 6 runs, and Irfan Khan contributed 27 runs, giving Karachi Kings a chance to defend their total.

Islamabad United had a strong start to their innings and maintained momentum throughout. Colin Munro and Alex Hales opened the batting and played well, scoring 82 and 47 runs respectively. Munro hit 12 boundaries, including 8 fours and 4 sixes, while Hales hit 7 fours. Despite Imad Wasim being dismissed without scoring, Salman Ali Agha and Shadab Khan guided Islamabad United to victory with 25 and 10 runs respectively.
