The PSL 9 action is in full swing at Qaddafi Stadium in Lahore today, featuring a match between Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings. In the tournament’s sixth match, Karachi Kings emerged victorious, defeating Peshawar Zalmi by 7 wickets with 19 balls to spare.
Karachi Kings won the coin toss and chose to field first. They did well in limiting Peshawar Zalmi to just 154 runs by taking wickets consistently. Peshawar Zalmi faced pressure early on when Saim Ayub got out on the first ball. Babar Azam played impressively, scoring 72 runs from 51 balls with 8 boundaries.
However, apart from Rovman Powell and Asif Ali, who scored 39 and 23 runs respectively, the rest of the team struggled to make an impact, losing wickets frequently and barely reaching double-digit scores.
Despite facing a setback at the beginning of their innings when Shan Masood was dismissed for only 10 runs, Karachi Kings bounced back. Muhammad Akhlaq’s quick 24 runs off 13 balls and Shoaib Malik’s 29 runs off 20 balls helped build momentum. Moreover, James Vince’s 38 runs off 30 balls and Kieron Pollard’s impressive 49 runs off 21 balls led the team to victory with 19 balls to spare.
