The ninth Pakistan Super League (PSL 9) continues with Quetta Gladiators vs Peshawar Zalmi. In the latest showdown, Quetta Gladiators emerged victorious by 16 runs, marking their first win of the season.
Peshawar Zalmi’s decision to bowl first after winning the toss proved costly as Quetta Gladiators set a formidable target of 207 runs. Jason Roy and Saud Shakeel were instrumental in this effort, amassing 75 and 74 runs, respectively. Rilee Rossouw and Sherfane Rutherford chipped in with 14 and 20 runs, while Khawaja Nafay and Muhammad Wasim contributed 6 and 4 runs, respectively, to conclude the innings.
In the second innings, Peshawar Zalmi got off to a promising start with Saim Ayub and Babar Azam combining for a total of 68 runs. Impressively, they collectively smashed 6 sixes. However, the team faced a setback when Mohammad Haris was out after scoring only 7 runs. Furthermore, Tom Kohler Cadmore and Rovman Power contributed modestly with 18 and 17 runs, respectively.
The team’s hopes were further dimmed when Dan Mousley was dismissed for just 11 runs. Asif Ali and Aamir Jamal, with scores of 2 and 7 respectively, couldn’t turn the tide in their favor either. Despite their efforts, Peshawar Zalmi fell short of the 207-run target set by the opposition.
