South Africa defeated Pakistan by six wickets in the warm-up match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup (PAK vs SA) on Wednesday. South Africa displayed an impressive batting performance and easily chased the target set by Pakistan during the first innings of the warm-up match.
Pakistan’s Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan had failed to impress with the bat as they scored 15 and 19 runs, respectively. However, Fakhar Zaman gave an impressive performance with the bat as he scored 52 off 28 balls, while Asif Ali also 32 runs to the total.
However, South Africa was easily able to chase the target of 187 runs set by Pakistan during the first innings of the warm-up match despite their openers being dismissed early in the match. South Africa’s Rassie van der Dussen showed an impressive performance with the bat and scored 101 runs while Temba Bavuma also scored 46 off 42 balls.
Pakistan’s Hassan Ali, who bowled the last over failed to restrict boundaries, as he gave away 22 runs to Proteas and helped them to victory. Meanwhile, Right-arm pacer Rauf gave away 33 runs from three overs and failed to take any wickets. Shaheen Shah Afridi on the other hand managed to pick two wickets (Bavuma and Heinrich Klaasen) but gave away 30 runs from his four overs.
Left-arm bowler Imad Wasim gave away 19 runs from his three overs but he did manage to take two early scalps of Quinton De Kock and Reeza Hendricks in the same over.
