T20 World Cup 2022: Pakistan & India to Face Off on October 23

Pakistan and India will face off for the second year running after the fixtures for the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia were announced by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

The two rivals will lock horns at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on 23 October 2022, a day after Australia begins its title defense against New Zealand in Sydney.

Pakistan and India have been placed together in Group 2 in the Super 12 round for the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 alongside Bangladesh, South Africa, and two more teams from the first round in the Group.

The schedule for the T20 World Cup 2022 was announced on Friday by the ICC, which confirmed the tournament will be played from 16th to 13th November at different venues across Austrailia.

Sri Lanka and Namibia will face off in the first round tournament opener in Geelong on October 16 in Group A, where they will be joined by two qualifiers, while Group B will feature the West Indies, Scotland and further two qualifiers.

The top two teams from both Group A and Group B in the preliminary first round will join the qualified nations in the Super 12 Stage, while the Final will be played at MCG on November 13.

It is pertinent to mention that Pakistan recorded its first win over India in a T20 World Cup last year in Dubai.
