India was able to defeated Bangladesh by seven wickets on Thursday in Pune and record their fourth consecutive win during the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023.
Viral Kohli managed another century as he scored an undefeated 103 runs off 91 balls, while Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill scored 48 and 52 runs, respectively.
Earlier, Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first, setting a target of 257 runs at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium.
After today’s win, India enjoys second position on the points table with New Zealand ahead of them only because of a superior net run-rate.
The top four teams will qualify for the semi-finals, which will be held in Mumbai on November 15 and in Kolkata on November 16.
The winners of the ICC World Cup 2023 will get $4 million, while the runners-up will be awarded $2 million with semi-finalists getting $800,000 each from the total prize pot of $10 million.
Meanwhile, the winners of each match in the group stage will receive $40,000 and the six teams that do not qualify for the semi-final will get $100,000.
