India continues its winning streak in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023 after defeating New Zealand by four wickets at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala on Sunday.
This was a crucial win for India as they are now the only team in the ICC World Cup 2023 that has not lost a single match so far.
Chasing a target of 274 runs, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill started off the innings scoring 46 and 26 runs, respectively.
This gave Indian batters a much-needed room to build partnerships.
Virat Kohli scored a well-executed 95 runs and ensured India’s fifth win the World Cup 2023.
Earlier first, New Zealand scored 273 runs despite a rough start and loss of an early wicket as opener Devon Conway was dismissed for no runs, while Will Young was sent to the pavilion for only 17 runs.
However, Rachin Ravindra and Daryl Mitchell managed to get the team back on track as they scored 75 and 130 runs, respectively.
Although, the remaining lineup failed to perform and New Zealand lost one wicket after another.
India will play England next on October 29 in Lucknow while New Zealand will take on Australia on October 28 in Dharamshala.
