Adobe Flash Player is finally dead as the company permanently ended support for the famous software on 31st December 2020.
Major browsers will also stop supporting Adobe Flash Player while Microsoft will block the software in most versions of Windows.
This isn’t unexpected as users of the service were made aware of the decision long ago and given ample time to look for alternatives.
Some browsers along with major websites started moving towards HTML5 as early as 2015 and Adobe also stated encouraging the transition among developers as the end of the popular software seemed inevitable.
Finally in 2017, the company officially announced that it would be ending support for the Adobe Flash Player, bringing an end to a service that holds a special place in web history.
As the service comes to an end, the Internet Archive is preserving Flash Games and animations.
The discontinuation of the service has led to many users getting emotional as they started sharing memes and old experiences made possible because of Adobe Flash.
