Apple is expected to launch more powerful MacBook Pro models that will be equipped with the company’s M2 Pro and M2 Max processors. According to a report by Mark Gurman, the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros with more capable M2 processors are already in the works at Apple.
However, the overall design of these MacBook Pros will likely remain unchanged as Apple just revamped the machines with a redesign that includes more ports, a MagSafe charger, a better display, and an improved webcam. Furthermore, these new MacBook Pro models with the M2 Pro and M2 Max are expected to be launched in a few months.
According to Gurman, Apple is expected to launch at least two or three new Macs around the middle of 2022 and if the company introduces the M2 Pro and M2 Max models of the MacBook Pro, it would make the existing M1 Pro and M1 Max models of the notebooks out of date earlier than expected.
It bears mentioning that Apple introduced the M1 Pro and M1 Max models of the MacBook Pro in the fall of 2021 and replacement chips (M2 Pro and M2 Max) would put the older chips out of date within one year instead of the usual 1.5-year or two-year cycle for such devices.
Mark Gurman believes that Macs powered by the M2 Pro and M2 Max will focus more on the graphics capability of the device, which would be great for professional users who need to perform more demanding tasks with video editing, coding, and more.
