Apple has expanded its color palette for the Apple Watch Series 9, introducing a vibrant Red option. This new hue not only adds a striking look to the smartwatch but also aligns with Apple’s commitment to supporting (RED)’s global efforts against HIV/AIDS.
The standout feature of the Red Series 9 is its eye-catching red aluminum case paired with a matching Sport Band. To further commemorate World AIDS Day, Apple has introduced exclusive red watch faces, including the Solar Analog face, tailored specifically for this occasion.
While the color is a standout feature, the technical specifications of the Red Series 9 closely mirror those of the standard model. Boasting the new S9 chip and quad-core neural engine, the smartwatch promises faster processing and improved overall performance. With an 18-hour battery life, 25% enhanced dictation accuracy, and 30% faster speed compared to its predecessor, the Series 9 offers a compelling upgrade.
Notable enhancements include a maximum brightness of up to 2000 nits, doubling that of the Series 8. A novel double-tap gesture has been introduced, enabling wearers to control watch functions without direct screen interaction.
Interested buyers can find the Apple Watch Series 9 Red on Apple’s online store and in retail outlets, with prices starting at Rs 41,900 in India and $399 in the US. A portion of the proceeds from each sale will contribute to the Global Fund, supporting HIV/AIDS programs in sub-Saharan Africa.
This move extends Apple’s longstanding partnership with (RED) since 2006, reinforcing their commitment to making a positive impact. The Red Series 9 joins an existing lineup of Red variants for the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 13, and iPhone SE, solidifying Apple’s dedication to supporting a crucial cause through their product offerings.
