Apple just announced the newer iPhone SE years after the launch of the first one. The second generation of the phone has a whole bunch of improvements while compromising on some aspects.
The second generation iPhone SE comes in the same design as the iPhone 8 meaning that it features 4.7 inches display along with large bezels and a home button at the bottom. The iPhone SE however uses the newer A13 Bionic Chip from the iPhone 11 which means there is significant improvement when it comes to performance and allowing for upgrades to other parts of the phone such as the camera.
The second generation Apple iPhone SE has a single 12 megapixel camera sensor with f/1.8 aperature which makes use of the A13 Bionic chip’s image signal processor and Neural Engine. The phone also supports 4K video recording up to 60 frames per second.

Some other features brought forward from the iPhone 8 include wireless charging and of course the Touch ID along with the home button and the phone lacks Apple’s newer facial recognition or FaceID. The phone also comes in three different colors which include white, black and product red.
The second generation iPhone SE is IP67 water and dust resistant and has support of fast charging with an 18 watt charger which will probably not be included with the phone like some other iPhone models. However, one feature the phone lacks is the headphone jack but that is to be expected since the iPhone 8 didn’t have that either.
Here is the price of the new Apple iPhone SE:
Variant | Price |
64GB | $399 |
128GB | $449 |
256GB | $549 |
The iPhone SE will be available for preorder starting Friday, 17 April 2020 and the company will start shipping the new phone from 24 April 2020 and the phone comes with a free year of Apple TV.
