Apple WWDC 2015 dates confirmed: Selfie-sticks, e-cigarettes are banned– Apple has announced dates for the 2015 edition of its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). WWDC 2015 will take place this year from June 8 – 12, 2015 at Moscone West in San Francisco, California.
This is one of the most awaited conferences from Apple because it showcases the new versions of iOS, OS X versions and sometimes gives a sneak preview of the new products (although that’s highly unexpected).
While rumour mills will soon start working overtime to give us leaks of the iOS 9 and the next version of OS X, some of Apple’s rules for this year’s WWDC have already raised eyeballs.
For starters, Apple has banned selfie-sticks at the event, and also vaping aka the use of e-cigarettes at the event.

The Apple WWDC website reads on the list of not-to-dos, “In addition, you may not use selfie sticks or similar monopods within Moscone West or Yerba Buena Gardens. Solicitation or selling of items or services is not allowed at WWDC. Any attendee conducting these activities may be removed from WWDC. Smoking (including e-cigarettes) is not permitted anywhere inside Moscone West. Please refrain from smoking within 20 feet (6 meters) of the lobby doors.”
Selfie-stick ban aside, Apple’s WWDC 2015 is an awaited event for fans and the media. Apple is expected to showcase a new music stream service as well which could incorporate the Beats service. Apple had acquired the Beats company last year.
Apple live-streams the keynote address for the WWDC, although you will need an Apple device to watch the session. This time select sessions from the conference will also be streamed live by Apple.
