Facebook Messenger Is Introducing Quick Reply & Other New Features

Facebook Messenger is getting several new features with the latest update for its mobile application, including a quick reply feature, new chat themes, a QR code scanning and payment links option for users in the US.

The updated Facebook Messenger is bringing three new chat themes which include Olivia Rodrigo, Fast & Furious 9 (F9) and World Ocean Day. All these themes will be available on Messenger and Instagram.

The theme for Olivia Rodrigo marks the release for her debut album, Sour, which was released on May 21, while the F9 theme celebrates 20 years of the movie franchise. Meanwhile, the theme for World Ocean Day lets users virtually explore oceans around the world while also promoting sustainability.

Furthermore, a quick reply bar has been added to the bottom of the media viewer in Facebook Messenger. This allows users to reply to an image or video while viewing it in full screen mode and without having to return to the main chat window.

Facebook has also added the ability to make and receive payments via Facebook Pay even if they are not connected with each other on the social media platform. Users can access payment links and QR codes by going to Settings > Facebook Pay.
