Google has just introduced a fresh update, version 9.2, for the Google Pixel Camera, and Pixel users can now access it via the Play Store. This update brings along some noteworthy enhancements, with a special feature exclusively available to users of the latest Google Pixel 8 and Google Pixel 8 Pro. Notably, this update precedes the eagerly anticipated December 2023 Pixel Feature Drop.
A standout addition in this update is the Pixel 8-exclusive Night Sight Time Lapse improvement. Users of Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro can now capture more extended Night Sight Time Lapse videos. The update facilitates recording up to five minutes of 1080p video or 20 minutes of 4K video, resulting in a captivating 10-second time-lapse video in Night Sight mode. This unique feature leverages the capabilities of Night Sight to create enchanting nighttime visuals.
Furthermore, the “Palm Timer” feature receives a customization upgrade. Users now have the flexibility to set it to “Always on” or activate it “Only when the timer is active.” This enhancement provides increased user control and convenience, adapting to individual preferences.
The update also introduces a more streamlined user interface, consolidating key options such as Brightness, Shadow, and White balance into a compact carousel at the bottom-right corner of the viewfinder. The preferences panel, featuring flash, Top Shot, Timer, Ratio, and more, can now be accessed through a swipe-up action on the viewfinder, bringing camera controls to the bottom for enhanced accessibility.
These UI changes extend to users of older Pixel devices still on version 9.0, ensuring a more uniform and improved experience across all Pixel phones. Additionally, the Pixel 8 Pro is anticipated to receive benefits such as Video Boost and other enhancements in the upcoming feature drop.
While the Google Pixel Camera 9.2 update is gradually rolling out through the Play Store, Pixel users also have the option to sideload the official APK from APKMirror for immediate access to these exciting features.
