Google’s first Pixel Fold impressed with its compact design in the foldable smartphone market. However, leaks hint that the upcoming Pixel Fold 2 will embrace larger displays, departing from its predecessor’s pocket-friendly form.
Initial renders suggested a 6.4-inch outer display for the Fold 2, but analyst Ross Young suggests it’ll be slightly smaller at 6.29 inches. This still marks an upgrade from the original’s 5.8-inch screen but aligns more closely with mainstream foldable offerings. The significant expansion appears in the internal display, projected to be 8.02 inches, a notable increase from the predecessor’s 7.6 inches. This positions the Pixel Fold 2 against devices like the OnePlus Open, featuring a 6.31-inch outer display and a 7.82-inch inner display.
The leaks on the Pixel Fold 2 don't have the display sizes right. 8.02" for the foldable display and 6.29" for the cover display. Panel production starts in April! It is coming.

The shift to a larger foldable screen may enhance multitasking and media consumption, making the Pixel Fold 2 a versatile productivity and entertainment device. Addressing criticism of the original Fold’s cramped feel when unfolded could be another motivation for the size increase.
Rumors suggest the Pixel Fold 2 will be powered by Google’s Tensor G4 processor, with display production slated to start in April. While a fall release seems likely, the exact timing remains uncertain. Despite the leaks revealing some details, much about the Pixel Fold 2 remains undisclosed for now.
