Google has shut down Xiaomi Nest Hub and Google Assistant Integration after a Xiaomi Mijia camera user reported seeing still images from someone else’s security camera when that person tried to stream video from his own camera to a Google Nest Hub.
This shows how serious of an issue these smart security cameras can be despite the benefits that they may bring.
The issue was picked up by Android Police after a user came to Reddit where he posted about the issue saying that when he tried to load the Xiaomi camera in Google Home Hub. it loaded someone images.

He also claimed that his Xiaomi Mijia Smart IP Secuirty Camera was linked to his Google account in order to make it work across all Nest devices using the Mi Home app and also that both his devices were newly purchased.
When Google was made aware of the situation, the company shut down Xiaomi Nest Hub and Google Assistant integration.
A Google spokesperson told The Verge:
We’re aware of the issue and are in contact with Xiaomi to work on a fix. In the meantime, we’re disabling Xiaomi integrations on our devices.
These smart home cameras and security solution seem to be having some problem emerging every now and then with such security concerns.
Just a while back someone posted about their smart camera and security system being hacked into where the hacker spoke to them via their system and another case was reported where a someone harassed to a little girl in a similar way in her room according to The Washington Post.
