Honor has officially unveiled a strategic collaboration with the renowned design powerhouse Porsche Design, as disclosed in a poster shared on Honor’s Weibo account, a popular social media platform in China.
The poster prominently showcases the logos of both Honor and Porsche Design, accompanied by the tagline “Born to be Pioneers.” In a translated message, Honor expressed excitement about the convergence of its innovative technology with Porsche’s timeless design, anticipating a groundbreaking collision marked by the hashtag #bornforpioneers. The statement also conveyed eagerness to forge new legends and create contemporary classics together.
This partnership signifies a fresh chapter for Porsche Design, which had previously collaborated with Huawei for an extended period. The collaboration spanned from the Mate 9 series to the Mate 50 flagships, adorning Huawei’s premium devices with Porsche Design’s distinctive aesthetic. However, Huawei’s recent pivot towards the “Ultimate Design” philosophy concluded the partnership earlier this year.
Stepping into this void, Honor is set to take the lead. Speculations suggest that the inaugural device to feature Porsche Design will be the Magic 6 series, with leaks hinting at a potential inclusion in the upcoming Magic V3 foldable.
The Magic 6 series, anticipated for an early release next year, is rumored to comprise three models. While the exact names remain undisclosed, past patterns suggest they might be named Honor Magic 6, Magic 6 Pro, and Magic 6 Ultimate.
Rumors also circulate about a specialized Porsche Design edition based on the Ultimate model. The devices are expected to feature a quad-curved display with a dual punch-hole camera cutout at the center. The Pro and standard models may boast a circular camera island, while the Ultimate model is rumored to showcase a more refined square design.
