Huawei is gearing up for the launch of its next flagship series, the P70, with exciting updates and features. According to insights from Weibo tipster Smart Pikachu, the P70 models may offer varied chipset frequencies.
The standard and high-end P70 variants are anticipated to employ the robust Kirin 9000s chipset, seen previously in the Mate 60 series. Notably, high-end models like the P70 Pro, P70 Art, and the rumored P70 Pro+ could feature an overclocked version of this chipset, targeting a 20% performance boost.
The tipster suggests that different clock speeds may be employed to achieve this enhancement, and China’s chipmaker SMIC is reportedly gearing up for the production of these 5nm chips.
In addition to chipset upgrades, the P70 series is expected to feature curved 1.5K resolution screens for an enhanced visual experience. Huawei is reportedly experimenting with various screen sizes and utilizing a blend of four China-made display panels, hinting at significant display improvements compared to previous models.
A notable shift in Huawei’s approach to satellite communication technology is also anticipated with the P70 series. Tipsters suggest that all models may integrate satellite features, democratizing this technology across the lineup. Huawei previously introduced satellite connectivity with the Mate 50 Pro in 2022, and the P70 series could potentially offer enhanced and more widespread satellite features.
Furthermore, the P70 series is expected to be released in the Chinese market by the end of March or early April. Huawei is also working on HarmonyOS NEXT, a next-generation operating system based on its own kernel that will not have any support for Android apps at all. The company still keeps innovating thus the P70 series is highly expected in the smartphone market.
