Instagram and Facebook Messenger appear to be down across the globe as users reporting trouble sending and receiving messages on these platforms.
Both services which are owned and operated by Facebook were hit with their problems to their direct messages service around the same time, which made it hard for users to send or receive new chats on these platforms.
Multiple reports from tracking website Down Detector show that Instagram and Facebook Messenger are down for users worldwide.
This outage comes at a time when Facebook is being hit with multiple anti-trust lawsuits in the United States that might end up breaking the companies.
Down Detector started reporting outages with these services a few hours ago. particularly in Europe and Japan, but soon users in South Asia and even the United States started reporting problems with the messaging service on these platforms.
Facebook is yet to respond to the regarding these issues meaning the number of complaints coming in continue to grow on tracking services like Down Detector, IsItDown and IsTheServiceDown.
