Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has notified of maintenance work on a section of the SMW4 International Submarine Cable on April 21, which may impact internet services in Pakistan.
According to the details, a power reconfiguration activity is planned between on April 21 from 02:00AM to 07:00AM on a section of the SMW4 International Submarine Cable. “This may cause some internet users to experience downgraded speeds during the mentioned time only.”
Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) added that alternate measures to provide uninterrupted internet services to users will be taken to meet capacity requirements and to return to full functionality as quickly as possible. Furthermore, the availability of internet services will be as usual throughout Pakistan.

However, everyone needs to keep in mind that the maintenance work on SMW4 International Submarine Cable may cause slow internet service across Pakistan during the mentioned times.
