Lost Ark has become the second most played game in Steam history just 24 hours after its launch in the West with 1 million concurrent players on the platform. The massively multiplayer online game was launched on 11 February in the West, after Amazon Games collaborated with Smilegate RPG to localize and translate Lost Ark into English.
The game has now passed concurrent records for both Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Dota 2, which normally remain as the most played games on Steam. Lost Ark, which was initially launched in South Korea in late 2019, has millions of active players in South Korea, Russia, and Japan. However, Lost Ark still has a long way to go before it crosses PUBG: Battlegrounds, which has an all-time peak of 3,257,248 concurrent players.
Lost Ark has become so popular that it has experienced server issues and there’s a queue just to start playing the game. According to SteamDB, the game as 1,311,842 concurrent players, crossing the previous record of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive with 1,308,963 players and that of Dota 2 with 1,295,114 players.
