After months of teasers and leaks, Nothing Phone 1 has finally been launched by the company in the global smartphone market with an affordable price tag. Nothing Phone 1 will compete with brands like OnePlus given the smartphone’s pricing, but the phone itself stands out as it features a unique transparent design and iconic LEDs.
Here are the specifications of the Nothing Phone 1:
Design
Nothing Phone 1 features a unique transparent back panel that is made out of recycled aluminum and the smartphone itself weighs just 193 grams. Furthermore, the smartphone features an LED setup on the back called the “Glyph Interface” and these are placed around the functional areas to display relevant information.
For instance, the LED behind the USB-C port shows charging progress, while the camera light turns on while taking photos, and the lights are in-sync with the built-in ringtones.
Display
The smartphone features a 6.55-inch OLED panel with a resolution of 1080p and a refresh rate of 120Hz, which is to be expected in today’s world. Furthermore, the Nothing Phone 1 is equipped with a Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and the smartphone offers a 240Hz touch sampling rate along with a in-display fingerprint sensor.
Internals and Storage
Nothing Phone 1 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 778G+ SoC along with 8 to 12 GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB storage options. However, there is no microSD card slot for further expansion, which is a draw back for many potential users.
Software
The smartphone is equipped with Android 12 with Nothing OS 1 skin, which is completely bloatware free. The company also offers up to 3 years of OS updates and 4 years of security patches that is something rarely offered by competition.
Camera
Nothing Phone 1 is equipped with a primary 50MP Sony IMX766 1/1.56″ sensor with OIS together with 50MP Samsung JN1 1/2.76″ ultrawide camera. Meanwhile, there is a single selfie camera with a 16MP Sony IMX471 sensor.
Battery and Charging
The smartphone has a battery capacity of 4,500mAh that is a little on the lower-end considering today’s standards. However, the Nothing Phone 1 also supports 33W fast charging, which will get you going in no time. Furthermore, there is support for 15W wireless charging and 5W reverse wireless charging as well.
It is pertinent to mention that Nothing Phone 1 has not included a charging brick in the box and the company is selling one separately for €35 that is unusual for a smartphone of this price range.
Pricing
The Nothing Phone 1 starts at €469 in Europe.
