Nubia Z60 Ultra Launching Globally on December 19

The upcoming Nubia Z60 Ultra smartphone is set to launch globally on December 19, featuring an under-display camera and a unique design that showcases its camera lenses separately. The device will have a 6.8-inch OLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, providing a full-screen experience without a punch-hole. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, coupled with a 6,000mAh battery supporting 80W charging. The Z60 Ultra may come with up to 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage. The operating system is expected to be MyOS-based Android 14, and the device has an IP68 rating for dustproof and water-resistant capabilities.

The device’s camera setup includes a 50-megapixel main snapper with OIS, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 64-megapixel OmniVision OV64B periscope telephoto camera that offers up to 3x optical zoom. On the front, there could be a 16MP sensor.

Nubia, though not highly prominent in the international smartphone market, occasionally releases devices for global customers. The Z60 Ultra launch is scheduled for December 19 at 7:00 AM EST globally, with a Chinese debut six hours earlier. The design of the Z60 Ultra is distinctive, departing from the trend of simple designs seen in other top-tier smartphones. The brand has teased a Starry Night Collector’s Edition design for the Chinese market, hoping to extend it globally.

Notably, the Z60 Ultra’s display integrates the company’s fifth-generation in-display selfie camera solution, ensuring a seamless full-screen experience. The device aims to stand out with its camera design and is expected to offer high-end specifications, including a powerful chipset, a large battery, and significant camera capabilities.
