OnePlus has officially confirmed the global launch date for the OnePlus 12, set to take place on January 23, 2024, as revealed during the Never Settle Summit in Antwerp, Belgium. Commemorating a decade since the brand’s inception, the event gathered the OnePlus community. Alexander Vanderhaeghe, the Country Manager for OnePlus Benelux, disclosed the launch details, also announcing the introduction of the OnePlus 12R in Europe.
Leaks had hinted at the OnePlus 12R being equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, distinct from the newer Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 featured in the OnePlus 12. In China, the 12R is anticipated to debut as the OnePlus Ace 3.
Beyond smartphone revelations, OnePlus unveiled its intentions to venture into the Internet of Things (IoT) sector without specifying the products. Expectations include the launch of OnePlus Buds 3, seen on various certification sites. Additionally, the black OnePlus Open is scheduled for an early 2024 release.
Highlighting the OnePlus 12 specifications, the device boasts a familiar design with glass and metal construction, IP65-rated protection, and is powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Its features include LPDDR5x RAM, UFS 4.0 storage, a 6.82-inch curved OLED display with QHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The camera setup mirrors the OnePlus Open, with a 50MP primary sensor and Hasselblad image processing. Connectivity options encompass 5G, WiFi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and more. Operating on ColorOS 14 based on Android 14, it houses a 5,400mAh battery supporting 100W wired and 50W wireless charging.
