The Google Assistant Ambient Mode that was announced last year finally starts making its way to OnePlus smartphones as it is now being rolled out by the company to its users.
The Ambient Mode feature was first rolled out to limited Nokia, Sony and even Xiaomi phones but is now being released to all devices gradually.
What the Google Assistant Ambient Mode does is make your smartphone into a smart display that can basically show a slide of photos in the gallery or control smart home devices and do a bunch of other tasks while it is being charged.

Here is a small video that shows the functionality of the Google Assistant Ambient Mode.
The feature is limited to Android phones and available on Android 8 or above.
According to a OnePlus blog post, the company says that the Ambient Mode is not being rolled out to OnePlus 3 and later devices in a phased manner and it might take up to a week for everyone to get the new feature on their phone.
For those who have received the update can simply connect your charger and tap on the Ambient Mode notification update to go through the setup process or you can go to the Google App Settings > Assistant > Devices to set it up.
The Ambient Mode feature provides many options such as setting up your phone to show a dynamic wallpaper slide from photos you can select from your gallery. In the same way you can set it up to show you the weather or more information while it is being charged.
Users will also have the option to control their smart devices or music playback from their devices while it is charging as well.
