OnePlus is planning to re-enter the smartwatch market with the announcement of its second-generation smartwatch (likely to be named OnePlus Watch 2), after the company suspended the launch of the smartwatch in 2021. The device is already officially teased by the company, and it is expected to be unveiled at MWC in Barcelona, Spain.
Even though the teaser image posted on the OnePlus Community forum does not mention the product by name, it confirms once and for all that the device is a smartwatch. The teaser image contains an image in line with the leaked renders, revealing a metal chassis with a protrusion on the right side which can be assumed to be a digital crown and a physical button.
The trusted tipster Max Jambor has put forth February 24 as the launch date, a day before the MWC event that is set to begin from February 26. The OnePlus Watch 2 is reported to come with a 1.43-inch AMOLED display and be powered by a Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 processor, with a guarantee of smooth operation.
The device will run on Google’s WearOS and will be expected to feature necessary health sensors that can function as a comprehensive wearable device.
