Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has issued a statement regarding high packet loss in online games being faced by Pakistani Gamers across the country.
According to the statement issues by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), they have checked with service internet service providers (ISPs) and all gaming apps are currently working normally across the country.
PTA claims that there is no high packet loss being experienced in online games by Pakistani gaming community and has also called the blame directed towards the regulator disappointing.
According to PTA, the issue regarding severe packet loss might be due to issue in some “specific area” for which users may report to their service providers or launch a complaint with the regulator itself.
There might have been service issue in some specific area which may be reported to service provider or PTA as a complaint.

However, the regulator has failed to mention what falls under “specific area” as this issue is being faced by gamers across the country which includes Islamabad, Lahore, Multan, Karachi and several other cities.
It is pertinent to mention that the high packet loss is being experienced in online games by users of different internet service providers (ISPs) from across the country yet it is being referred to as a problem affecting a “specific area”.
Earlier it was being reported by users who received emails from their service providers who stated that the problem relating to high packet loss in online games was because of PTA’s implementation of their new Web Monitoring System (WMS) to curtail grey traffic which mainly includes Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) and Voice over IP (VoIP) services.
