Redmi, a sub-brand of Xiaomi, has been dropping hints about the upcoming Redmi K70 series on Weibo. Excitingly, the company has now officially declared that the Redmi K70 series is scheduled for a grand reveal on November 29 in China at 7 PM local time.
Last December, Redmi launched three models – Redmi K60e, Redmi K60, and Redmi K60 Pro – equipped with Dimensity 8200-Ultra, Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, and Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipsets, respectively.
The K60 series will be succeeded by three models – Redmi K70e, Redmi K70, and Redmi K70 Pro – featuring Dimensity 8300-Ultra, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipsets, respectively.
While the specifications for the K70e are already known, details for the K70 and K70 Pro remain unclear. The Redmi K70e is expected to boast a 6.67-inch OLED 1.5K resolution display with a 120Hz refresh rate, up to 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM, up to 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage, a 5,500mAh battery with 90W charging, a triple camera unit (64-megapixel main with OIS, 8-megapixel ultra-wide, 2-megapixel macro), a 16-megapixel front-facing camera, and a plastic frame.
The Redmi K70 and K70 Pro are anticipated to feature similarly sized 120Hz OLED panels with higher 2K resolution support. Both models are expected to include a 50-megapixel OmniVision camera with OIS support, a metallic frame, and 120W fast charging support. The K70 may come with a 5,000mAh battery, while the Pro edition might feature a 5,120mAh battery. The entire lineup is set to run on Android 14 and HyperOS.
The Redmi K70 series is unlikely to see a global release. Instead, some of these devices may be rebranded as the Poco F6 series in the global market. It is expected that the F6 and F6 Pro, set to debut in Q1 2024, could be rebadged versions of the K70e and K70, respectively.
