A recent report from South Korea sheds light on the production plans for the Samsung Galaxy Ring, a wearable device set to launch in the latter half of the year. Despite being showcased earlier this year, it has garnered significant interest, with several details confirmed.
Samsung aims to produce an initial batch of 400,000 Galaxy Rings to meet anticipated demand. This ambitious goal aligns with the brand’s expectations, despite smart rings being relatively new in the market. Mass production is scheduled to commence in May, with plans in place to scale up production if demand exceeds expectations.
The Galaxy Ring’s compact size and absence of part shortages contribute to Samsung’s confidence in meeting demand. It is expected to debut at an Unpacked event focusing on next-generation foldables, tablets, and smartwatches, with sales likely to begin in August.
Samsung has disclosed that the Galaxy Ring will be available in nine sizes and three color options, boasting a battery life of nine days. Battery capacities range from 14.5mAh for the smallest model to 21.5mAh for the largest. While compatible with other Android phones, the Galaxy Ring will not work with iOS devices.
