In 2024, one of the most-anticipated devices include the Samsung Galaxy Ring. Initially teased in January alongside the Galaxy S24 and unofficially announced at MWC in February, the Galaxy Ring has been generating significant excitement in the tech community. While an official unveiling is expected at the next Unpacked event in July, recent findings by GSMArena within Samsung’s stock Battery Widget hint at a potentially earlier release.

The Battery Widget, accessible on Samsung smartphones, now includes the Galaxy Ring among other compatible devices like the Galaxy Watch, Galaxy Fit, and Galaxy Buds. This suggests that Samsung is actively preparing for the Ring’s launch and integrating it into its existing wearables ecosystem.

Though the exact release date remains undisclosed, the Battery Widget development suggests a possible reveal sooner than July.

While details continue to emerge, leaks indicate that the Galaxy Ring will prioritize comfort and lightweight design, even suitable for wearing during sleep. It’s anticipated to offer extended battery life on a single charge, lasting several days.

The main features are expected to focus on health and fitness tracking, with a confirmed built-in heart rate sensor and rumored sleep tracking capabilities. NFC payment support is also rumored, enabling users to make contactless purchases with a simple tap of the Ring. Available in various sizes, ranging from 2.3 to 2.9 grams, the Galaxy Ring promises a battery life of up to 9 days, depending on the size.

Designed for seamless integration with Galaxy devices, the Galaxy Ring can complement a Galaxy Watch for enhanced health tracking and will be compatible with Galaxy phones and potentially other Android devices, excluding iPhones.
