Samsung has introduced the much-awaited Galaxy S23 FE, which is an affordable alternative to the company’s flagship lineup. While there are several key upgrades, it is equipped with last year’s flagship chipsets.
The smartphone is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 or the Exynos 2200 – depending on where you live – that are not the latest chipsets but still offer a solid upgrade over the Snapdragon 888 or Exynos 2100 in the Galaxy S21 FE.
The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE also features a 6.4-inch flat Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with 1080p resolution and a variable 60-120Hz refresh rate.
The base configuration offers 8 GB of RAM and storage options of 128 GB or 256 GB, with no expandable storage slot.
Meanwhile, the camera setup has been upgraded with a 50MP sensor up from the 12MP sensor, while the selfie camera is 10MP, which is actually a downgrade after two generations of 32MP sensors in the FE models.
There’s also a lower resolution ultra-wide 10MP camera and an 8MP telephoto camera to complete the triple camera setup on the back.
The device retains a 4,500 mAh battery and supports 25W wired charging and wireless charging.
Samsung Galaxy S23 FE will go on sale from October 5 starting at $599.
