Snapchat is reportedly allow users to change their username and the company has been testing this feature for a while for some users and will launch it on Android and iOS this month. The new feature will allow Snapchat users to change their usernames instead of creating a new Snapchat account.
However, there is a catch as Snapchat users will be able to change their username only once a year. If you want to change your username, you can simply go to your profile and open settings. There, tap the ‘Username’ and then select the ‘Change Username’ option.
Furthermore, the change in Snapchat username will not impact user’s contacts, Snap Code, Snap Score, or Memories, according to the press release issued by the company. However, it bears mentioning that users won’t be able to pick a handle that’s been used in the past.
Snapchat is also working on introducing mid-roll ads that appear in the Stories of a small group of US creators as way for them to earn money with their content. The feature is said to be rolled out on a wider scale in the coming months and which Snapchat will share revenue from the ads placed in Stories with their creators based on a formula that takes into account metrics like posting frequency and engagement.
