Qualcomm is expected to launch their Snapdragon 898 processor on November 30 as the company announces the dates for its annual tech summit. However, there is no official information regarding the products that will be unveiled during the event but it is reasonable to assume that the event will revolve around the new Snapdragon 898 processor.
The Snapdragon 898 processor is rumored to be the successor of the Snapdragon 888 processor multiple rumors state that the first phone to use the new chipset will be the Xiaomi 12 and that it will launch by the end of the year. Taking the previous keynotes into consideration, it is safe to assume that the Snapdragon will be unveiled by Qualcomm on November 30 or no later than December 2.
The Snapdragon 898 is rumored to be fabricated using Samsung’s 4nm process over a smaller footprint than its predecessor, the Snapdragon 888 processor, which delivers superior processing power and more power efficient operation. This will lead to better better performance for most flagship devices given that smartphone manufacturers don’t mess up their custom UI.
According to several leaks, the upcoming chip will be using a 1+3+4 architecture design with the large core being the Cortex X2 with a frequency of above 3.0GHz while the other two cores will reportedly be 2.5GHz and 1.79GHz. Furthermore, the processor will reportedly be equipped with an Adreno 730 graphics card and all of the configuration is supposed to deliver a 20 percent high performance compared to the Snapdragon 888 chipset.
