Gamers are thrilled with a possible discovery on the Best Buy Canada website hinting at an new version of the PlayStation 5 DualSense controller. According to the details, the listing is titled “PlayStation 5 V2 DualSense Wireless Controller – White” and has a price tag that matches the original controller at $89 (CAD).
However, it is not currently for sale and the day of its release remains a mystery and the page has also been taken down by Best Buy.
While the images shown seem similar to that of the current DualSense, listing details imply major internal improvements. It is said that the V2 model will retain the much-loved features of its predecessor, such as haptic feedback adaptive triggers and a microphone but with notable enhancements.
According to the listing, the V2 boasts a “charging station” with “easy click-in charging,” complete with an impressive – if slightly pie-in-the-sky sounding – 12 hour battery life on full charge, which represents an impressive improvement over today’s controller package that gets as much as five hours from one charge. Perhaps, this potential refinement could save users the trouble of regularly charging their gadgets – especially those using the power-gobbling DualSense Edge controller.
However, Sony has not responded to the leak so far and advises people to be careful with this information because they could be errors made by Best Buy or inaccuracies in listing. On the other hand, since it’s being said that there would be a PlayStation State of Play event this month, the timing is right on target for announcing a new DualSense model.
PlayStation enthusiasts can only sit with hope until Sony releases its preface that this leak reveals a future longer-lasting and supercharged DualSense controller is also in the offing.
