Twitter is introducing its own version of Stories but they’re calling it Fleets. The company announced this new feature today and are going to be introducing it in Brazil first.
The Fleets feature will allow user to post vanishing or disappearing content on the micro blogging platform for the first time ever.
These Fleets will be visible for a period of 24 hours and then disappear and they can’t receive likes, replies or retweets either.
However, Fleets aren’t private content and will be visible to the public even if they’re not following you. Anybody can visit a Twitter profile and view the person’s Fleets but they won’t be circulated on Twitter or even show up in search like normal tweets.

Twitter is the last of the major social media giants to be testing this stories feature as the majority of social media platforms have already introduced this function including Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and many others.
Although Twitter says the main reason for introducing this function is because some people feel uncomfortable tweeting as tweets are permanent. This feature will encourage them to post.
People however, seem to be against this new function saying that they don’t want another Instagram or Snapchat. Twitter itself has been trending with the hashtag #RIPTwitter for hours since the announcement with people sharing their opnion.
