Telenor on Thursday denied all media reports regarding the company shutting down its operations in Pakistan. Taking to Twitter, the telecom company said that news being reported about the Telenor shutting down its operations in Pakistan was incorrect.
“We remain committed to serving our customers and connecting them to what matter most.” said the company. A media story has incorrectly reported that Telenor Pakistan is shutting down its operations.” it added.

The company said that such reports were “not true” and it looks forward to bringing its customers the best services and solutions as they have done in the past.
It is pertinent to mention that some media reports suggested that Telenor may be considering to shut down its operations in Pakistan following its failure to merge with Ufone.
According to the report, Telenor was unhappy about its operations in Pakistan due to low profitability of the telecom sector.
It bears mentioning that it isn’t the first time such reports have been published regarding Telenor Pakistan shutting down its operations in the country. Last year, a similar news went viral regarding the company and it was later put to rest by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).
