The micro blogging platform Twitter issued a warning for its users to not update the app to the latest after a lot of users reported Twitter app crashing issues after updating to the latest version 8.28.
Twitter’s support team made a tweet about the issue saying:
We’re investigating a problem with the latest version of our Android app that causes it to crash immediately once it’s opened. If you use Twitter for Android, we suggest not updating it until we let you know it’s fixed. Sorry for the inconvenience!

If you haven’t updated the app you can open up Play Store and open up the Twitter app page over there and simply select not to update the app automatically.
Although if you’re one of the unlucky ones that did update the app and are unable to use it, there are a few steps you can try and maybe get the app to work.
You need to go to your settings options and then go into the applications or apps. From there you need to select Twitter and go to the app’s storage option and Clear all data for the app.
Although you should note that doing this will delete all data on the app and log you out of Twitter and you will need to log back into Twitter. This will even set the app back to the default white theme and all settings will need to be applied again.
