Facebook owned encrypted messaging platform WhatsApp will start charging some cusomters for its business services according to the the company.
According to a press release issued by WhatsApp, the company has decided to “charge business customers for some of the services” in order to maintain and improve services.
Furthermore, the company says that the global pandemic has helped it realize that businesses need a fast and efficient way to service their customers and make sales.

According to the company’s research, “people prefer to message a business to get help and they’re more likely to make a purchase when they can do so.” rather than put on hold and be transferred from person to person.
The company further states, “we’ve provided the WhatsApp Business app and WhatsApp Business API to help businesses of all sizes manage their chats. We’ve listened to feedback on what’s worked and believe WhatsApp can help make messaging the best way for consumers and businesses to connect.”
Many people are currently using WhatsApp Business for their secondary number and now they’ll need to look for alternative ways in order to use two cell numbers at once.
